Sousou no Frieren
Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. With the great struggle over, they all go their separate ways to live a quiet life. But as an elf, Frieren, nearly immortal, will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to terms with the mortality of her friends? How can she find fulfillment in her own life, and can she learn to understand what life means to the humans around her? Frieren begins a new journey to find the answer.
La mage elfe Frieren et ses courageux aventuriers ont vaincu le roi démon et apporté la paix dans le pays. Une fois la grande lutte terminée, ils se séparent tous pour mener une vie tranquille. Mais en tant qu'elfe, Frieren, presque immortelle, survivra longtemps au reste de son ancien groupe. Comment acceptera-t-elle la mortalité de ses amis ? The must watch show of the season. Both beautiful in animation, character design and voice acting. Any words to describe the beauty of the series would diminish it. Seriously a masterpiece.

It's not really my kind of thing, but fantasy series that focus on long-term character development are somewhat unusual -- a bit like the final chapter of the Lord of the Rings. Taking that as the starting point, this might get interesting.

This show has a very slow pace to it in the first episode. I think that was the point, to help convey how eternity would seem to an elf. The show was very well written, with a fairly simple plot that was fairly well executed. The show definitely has potential, but I'm not sure its for me. I guess I will give it another episode or two.

History. Memories. Friends. Getting old. The cycle of life and death, as seen from an elf who will live orders of magnitude longer than any human she will ever know. Looks interesting.
