Shangri-La Frontier
Second year high school student Rakurou Hizutome is interested in one thing only: finding "shitty games" and beating the crap out of them. His gaming skills are second to none, and no game is too bad for him to enjoy. So when he's introduced to the new VR game Shangri-La Frontier, he does what he does best—min-maxes and skips the prologue to jump straight into the action. But can even an expert gamer like Rakurou discover all the secrets that Shangri-La Frontier hides?
Rakurou Hizutome, étudiant en deuxième année de lycée, ne s'intéresse qu'à une seule chose : trouver des « jeux merdiques » et les démolir. Ses compétences de jeu sont sans égal et aucun jeu n’est trop mauvais pour qu’il puisse en profiter. Ainsi, lorsqu'on lui présente le nouveau jeu VR Shangri-La Frontier, il fait ce qu'il fait de mieux : min-max et saute le prologue pour passer directement à l'action. Mais même un joueur expert comme Rakurou peut-il découvrir tous les secrets que cache Shangri-La Frontier ?

What is opposite of a shitty game? What is opposite of a shitty anime? Pretty well what you make of either. In this case, our lead character would be a godsend to any game developer as a beta tester. It does show that though many hold promise of VR being the new thing for gaming, crappy programming and game design is all the same no matte the technology it's based on. The romantic tie in in RL looks promising but our lead character is clueless as the trash games he plays.

This was a decent enough first episode. The art style is actually pretty good, and the intro music was pretty badass. The character arc wasnt anything special, and we dont see too much in the way of social actions. All in all, it averaged out to a mediocre first episode.

Good sound design, interesting first episode, but I'm not seeing what will differentiate this show from other vrmmo anime besides the setup and backstory of the main character. He's still going to go through the leveling and skill acquisition arc, pick up some teammates, and so on.
