Kill La Kill

Ryūko Matoi is a girl who travels with a single red scissor blade, searching for the wielder of the other blade who killed her father. She arrives at Honnōji Academy, a high school that lives in fear. It is ruled over by the fearsome student council, led by the student council president, Satsuki Kiryūin, who use powerful uniforms to crush anyone in their path. After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of Satsuki, Ryūko comes accross a possessed school uniform named Senketsu, who puts himself on Ryūko, granting her special abilities. Teaming up with Senketsu, Ryūko stands up against Satsuki and the student council to liberate Honnōji Academy from their iron grip and find out the truth behind her father's murder.

Half of the fun is trying to identify the huge number of references in the series, ranging from obvious ones like Gurren Lagann to older mecha series like Votoms and Space Runaway Ideon or the random references to western media (ie. Pulp Fiction in episode 4)
From the director ofmuch insanity including FLCL, Dead Leaves, Gurran Lagann, and Panty & Stocking comes arguably one of the best series of the year. If you're looking for something with complex story or that makes any lick of sense ook elsewhere but if you want something that is, above all else, fun, then look no further. While at its heart an action series you can consider the series as the antithesis of Puella Magi Madoka magica in that it takes the magical/transforming girl genre and makes everything as upbeat and tetosterone driven as possible.

humanbean

reminds me of fooli-cooli. Only more violent

I guess you could call this just anotger superpowered high school cage fight adventure show, but I think it used up an entire series worth of goofiness in a single episode. if they can maintain that level of engery and lunacy over an entire season, I would be seriously impressed.

Yahya

Tried to like it but not for me

Michael Eh?

Totally messed up story. Sick and twisted and definitely will become a classic because of it.
