Mitsuha is a female high school student who lives in a rural town nestled deep in the mountains. She laments that she lives in the countryside, and yearns for the wonderful lifestyle in Tokyo. Taki is a male high school student who lives in central Tokyo. He spends time with his friends, works part-time at an Italian restaurant, and is also interested in architecture and fine arts. One day, Mitsuha has a dream where she is a young man. Taki also has a dream where he is a female student attending high school in the countryside. What is the secret behind their dreams?
Mitsuha est un lycéen femme qui vit dans une ville rurale nichée au creux des montagnes. Elle déplore qu'elle vit à la campagne, et aspire à la merveilleuse vie à Tokyo. Taki est un étudiant de lycée qui vit dans le centre de Tokyo. Il passe du temps avec ses amis, travaille à temps partiel dans un restaurant italien, et est également intéressé par l'architecture et les beaux-arts. Un jour, Mitsuha a un rêve où elle est un jeune homme. Taki a aussi un rêve où il est une étudiante à l'école secondaire dans la campagne. Quel est le secret derrière leurs rêves?
