The last day of Yggdrasil, a popular online game which is being quietly shut down, our protagonist Momonga decides to stay in his beloved game until the last moment, so waits for the forced logout. Unexpectedly, the server does not shut down and Momonga is stuck in a skeleton avatar in another world. Le dernier jour d'Yggdrasil, un jeu en ligne populaire qui est en train d'être fermé tranquillement, notre protagoniste Momonga décide de rester dans son jeu bien-aimé jusqu'au dernier moment, alors attend la déconnexion forcée. De façon inattendue, le serveur ne s'arrête pas et Momonga est coincé dans un avatar squelette dans un autre monde. "Le puissant Overlord" a besoin maintenant de découvrir le nouveau monde et faire face aux défis continus qui se posent.
