In some ways, much like Soul Eater in art styling at first. Comedic humour that is way over the top. For all, it tries too hard ... even breaking down the 4th wall at times. Though I can see cosplay-ability of the main characters. Mindless humour for summer viewing.

Made it through the first episode, if you count skipping parts as actually watching. Was going to give it a 2nd chance with episode 2, but it's seemingly fallen into the drop zone.

The story begins in the distant future in the far reaches of the galaxy. The Human Galactic Alliance has been constantly fighting for its survival against a grotesque race of beings called Hideous. During an intense battle, the young lieutenant Red and his humanoid mobile weapon Chamber are swallowed up into a distortion of time and space. 
Waking from his artificially induced hybernation, Red realises that he has arrived on Earth, the planet on the lost frontier. On this planet that was completely flooded by the seas, people live in fleets of giant ships, salvaging relics from the seas' depths in order to survive. 
Red arrives on one of the fleets called Gargantia. With no knowledge of the planet's history or culture, he is forced to live alongside Amy, a 15-year-old girl who serves as a messenger aboard the Gargantia fleet. To Red, who has lived a life where he knows nothing but fighting, these days of peace continue to surprise him.

Seems to be off to a good start. A few questions naturally. A Sci-fi with robotish mecha. Chamber may steal the show though, Sugita has that effect sometimes, he's Red's robot unit. Also will be good for any fangirl missing Konishi Katsuyuki as he's in this one as well. Just saying.

While this show opens up with a suggestive yaoi opening, it kicks into a comedy with Black Butler undertones then switches gears and hooks you in.

Maybe it's because I read the manga that I don't see anything related to Kuroshitsuji here (thank the gods). Takadono-sensei brings in Solomon, the key and some of the pillars like Dantalion, and unless there's a butler named Sebastian in countless books you can't claim anything here. The character art is far better in the manga than the anime. But I look forward to seeing how much they can shove into this short series, like with Karneval. I defiantly don't think kuro when i read or watch this one.

How this twist on cut and dried formula of '''TOO''' many RPGs will work out. Still for those Spice and Wolf fans, there is another show to add to your collection.

I can't believe there's no reviews for this one! I love it. I'm even starting to warm up to the girl, which is a feat i must say. She's the main reason why so many aren't watching this series. Lot's of BL hints, but also eye candy for the guys that may or may not be watching this one. Pre-ordered the OP & ED singles. Yes I'm that kind of fan.

Don't know what to make of P4. Maybe that is the point to be confused. One of the best openings where the opening song and cut back to the show meld perfectly. This must be the season of most of the backgrounds being CG'd. At least, the modelling of cars and building is consistant and not missed matched stock models and textures. It should have been more creepy than it turned out. The ending seemed anti-climatic as the hero saves the day in other world. Not having played the game Persona 4 maybe didn't help. Fans of the game will get more references from the game.

What to say about a series with epic music? Let's hope it does die out before the way half mark (see: Ao no Exorcist). So far so good. The male cast, and even dare I say it the female cast doesn't fail to impress. Sitting at episode 5, characters are being fleshed out and the plan slowly revealed on both sides. Also who doesn't like a series where someone can pull weapons out of people? Shu is a typical Kaji Yuuki character, so if you don't like that type, you should most likely skip this lovely anime.

Slow paced series with an opening song that doesn't fit with the rest of the series sound track. It has a bit of a Victorian mystery tinge to it. It's impossible to say if Edgar the supposed Earl of Fairyland is real or scoundrel keen to get his hands on Merrell, a legendary sword of fairies to claim a great estate.

Don't just watch the first episode, and judge it based on that. The OP Feeling by AciD FLavoR, fits very well with the series. The ED My Fairy is sung by Midorikawa Hikaru, who plays Edgar-sama, which really fits, considering everything, but so does the OP, trust me. Raven. Raven is who makes this series for me. The OP fits him, and many more just perfectly. Watch episode 4, and you'll agree. ^^ I'll stop now before babbling more and more about Raven....

This one is my baby of the season. So shiny, and pretty, and new. If i hadn't known the cast in advance, I'd of had no clue that Ciel was voiced by Sakamoto Maaya. It's got to be the deepest I've heard her yet, and she's just that much greater. But Ono Daisuke is why i'm in this for the long haul. His character Sebastian, is the Black Butler. Mixes in comedy within the dark, supernatural aura this one gives off well.

Grell.. episode 5/6 i believe. Fukuyama Jun pulls of yet another excellent performance. Too funny and too great for words.

Kuro Shitsuji doesn't disappoint. In fact, I find this horror story refreshing from the hack and slash gore or shocker horror. It's simple yet brilliant in it execution... even of the guest. :) Well written, well paced, well acted.

I found the show was okay but for a first episode it was weak story to begin with. It does feel like a middle of a series story ... or is it really the fact it is midway story because the whole story is only midway. Ending song and animation might turn Clannad fans off but then nothing tops first season's ending.

Well I thought it was perfect for a first episode of this season. Baseball. Teamwork. What better way for them to start building those relationships that Tomoya needs to have before the end. I only hope they can manage to get to the end of the story this time.

Well if you can manage to not wish to be deaf before almost the halfway mark, you'll find this series could be something great. But as all great things, it could also fail miserably. Holding out for the small-teeny change this one will get fansubbed. That change is almost non-existent at this point. it's a mecha anime. Fukuyama Jun appears to play a bad guy. what more could you want? Although the character animation isn't to my liking, the mecha CG is nice.

I'm at episode 9 of the series. I've been far better watching this in RAW and then subbed, than I did with the first series. In the first act i maybe cared to watch 3 episodes subbed. But with CG R2, i've been watching the raw early in the morning and then the sub later in the day, for every episode. The story is flowing much better, and keeps my attention, and I have not once just watched it to here FukuJun talk. XD
Yes, the first act was that bad, IMO. Tons of fanservice, and it still get shocked and surprised at least once per episode. I have at least one favourite scene in each episode so far too. And on top of all that, there is Karen. What's significant about her? For one I adore her. I don't like many female characters at all. But Karen's personality, and kickass attitude sells her for me.

I found the execution of this high school of bishounen vampires poorly executed on a few levels. Maybe because there is too much angst and a lack of typical bishounen cliche scenes. Nothing in the animation really stood out. The idea of the main characters trying to keep the two classes apart ... the human day class and the inhuman vampire night class, seems make for potential for story. Still this genre of vampire anime is growing too over populated of late.

Generally, I only find high school and vampires to be mildly interesting but this showhas a nice balance of drama, horror and comedy. I like Yuiki - she's a bit of a airhead and is apparently pretty tasty too.

I'm a sucker for anything that has vampires in it, as long as it's not cheese. VK is defiantly not that. It's also most likely not for guys to watch. I mean it is in LaLa after all. Full of bishies. The music fits, there's a small bit of an eerie element, small traces of 'comedy' thankfully not too much of that, it's not a comedy after all. Go watch Karin for comedy & vampires. This series is my new 'candy' for the season. I've watched the first three episodes an untold amount of times. Mamo-chan does an excellent job as Zero, as does Kishio as Kaname. Also Yuki (the main female, Horie Yui) isn't as annoying as most female characters are, she very tolerable, maybe a tad naive, but at least not annoying. Great cast so far.

A mysterious gem called the Dokuro Stone is said to be able to reveal the location of the largest vein of gold in the world. This legend has entranced many people who wanted to get their hands on fame, power and wealth, including the trio of villains in this show: the "Dorombo Gang". However, their hunt for the Skull Stone is not as easy as they imagined, mainly due to the faulty information they receive from their leader; and most of all, by a justical duo of pursuers called the "Yatterman"!

Um... what did i just watch? Yes I watched the complete first episode without subs, and was completely scared the whole time. Back with basically the complete original cast, minus a few that were either too young to have been in it, or not even born yet. In short very scary. But I plan on trying a few more episodes, got to do it for my Yocchin.

Just after seeing the first episode (first RAW then with subs) I decided to keep this one. Although at this time a lot of things are unclear to me, but I love Yocchin's character, and how (after watching episode 2 raw) Noe seems to think of Shinichirō as a rooster? o.O haha, or at least he's thinking that. Anyways there are parts that make me smile, and others that leave me wondering where it's all going to lead.

In Edo Era, a granddaughter of the master of a samurai family was going to marry. However, at the moment they were going to celebrate the wedding, she was killed miserably. A druggist said it was the work of a bakeneko, or cat monster. As if prophesied by his words, the other members of the family began to be killed, one after another. The druggist claims to have the means to destroy the bakeneko, but to do so, he must know not only his form but the truth about what he wants and the reason for his appearance. That was when the family's dark secrets begin to surface.

This kind of creepy sotry is something I've seen often enough but the visual style is something else. Japanese woodcut colours are very different from most other anime and the numerous static scenes, half-face closeups and sliding door scene changes complete with a realistic ''thunk'' make for a uniquely disturbing viewing experience.

The Medicine Seller is no doubt one of the most unusual character designs. Hunting mononoke with the restrictions of also having to know it's form, truth and regret puts this horror classic on par with murder mystery writing. The Medicine Seller becomes the detective and exorsist in this anime where Japanese woodcut style comes alive with Japanese theatre.

The original movie is a classic and this series has become one in itself.

Like everything I watch, I viewed the first episode because Sakurai Takahiro is in the main role. Not quite my style of anime, and I know that the animation will send people packing early, but if you dare to watch the first episode in it entirety, you'll see how the art style works in favour of the story. It adds to the creepy/eerie effect/feel of the story.
